Our technician Bryan began with a comprehensive servicing to extend the lifespan of Susanne’s tankless water heater. This involved flushing and descaling the unit—a crucial process to remove mineral buildup that hinders efficiency. Over about 45 minutes, we circulated a specialized solution through the system to break down the scale, then thoroughly flushed out any residue before restarting the water heater.
During the service, Bryan and his team discovered a break in the condensation line at the connection point. We carefully removed the broken fitting and damaged pipe section, installed a new segment of PEX pipe and secured it with fresh fittings to ensure durability under daily use.
To prevent future issues, we also snaked the condensation drain pipe, clearing any potential obstructions to guarantee smooth operation. We recommend including this step during each water heater service to maintain optimal performance.
