Plumbing appliances are some of the most essential fixtures in a restaurant, so when they stop working it can cause a lot of issues. George, the owner of A Mano restaurant in Atlanta’s Old Fourth Ward, faced this challenge with his kitchen’s plumbing system. The upper kitchen sink, essential for the restaurant’s day-to-day operations, was equipped with twist assembly basket strainers that were in poor condition due to improper repairs and aging materials. George needed the issue fixed quickly and called Fix & Flow for help.

Scope of Work

Our approach to this job was comprehensive and tailored to meet the demands of a busy commercial kitchen. The project, led by our experienced plumbing technician Bryan, involved a series of steps to ensure a complete restoration of functionality to the kitchen’s plumbing:

Removal of Old Components

Our team began by removing the four worn-out twist basket strainers from the upper kitchen sink.
Along with this, we dismantled the existing, inefficient drain system linked to the kitchen sink.

Installation of New Systems

To keep our work safe and efficient, our crew cleaned and prepared the area for new installations.
Bryan installed four new commercial-grade twist basket strainers designed for the high-volume, continuous use needed in a restaurant.
We also configured a new drain system tailored to the new strainers, enhancing the sink’s drainage efficiency.
Along with the sink, our team also replaced the old PVC drain system at the dishwasher with a new 2” copper drain.
We then secured and stabilized the system to prevent future issues.

Testing and Quality Assurance

Finally, Bryan performed thorough testing of all the newly installed parts to check for leaks, ensuring the system can handle the demands of a commercial kitchen for years to come.

Our upgrade on A Mano’s kitchen plumbing was a resounding success.
